A powerful new documentary on the life and final years of heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne is on the way. Titled Ozzy: No Escape From Now, the feature is directed by BAFTA award-winner Tania Alexander and was filmed beginning in early 2022 with the full involvement of Ozzy Osbourne and his family.
The film charts the career of Ozzy Osbourne and personal struggles, with a special focus on his latter years, including the health battles that followed his 2019 fall, which aggravated injuries from a prior ATV accident. These setbacks, combined with the progression of Parkinson’s disease, profoundly impacted his mobility and shaped his final chapter.
Alongside unprecedented family access, the film includes commentary from some of rock and metal’s biggest names, including:
Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath)
Zakk Wylde
Andrew Watt
Billy Morrison
Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses)
Robert Trujillo (Metallica)
Billy Idol
Maynard James Keenan (Tool)
Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
James Hetfield (Metallica)
As glimpsed in the trailer, No Escape From Now captures intimate studio sessions from Osbourne’s final albums, his brief but triumphant returns to the stage with the help of a back brace, and his grand live sendoff at the Back To The Beginning farewell concert this past July — an emotional performance that tragically came only weeks before his death from a heart attack on July 22, 2025 at the age of 76.
Speaking earlier this year, Sharon Osbourne reflected on the project: “This film is an honest account of what has happened to Ozzy during the last few years. It shows how hard things have been for him and the courage he has shown while dealing with a number of serious health issues, including Parkinson’s.
“It’s about the reality of his life now. We have worked with a production team we trust and have allowed them the freedom to tell the story openly. We hope that story will inspire people that are facing similar issues to Ozzy.”
