Fujifilm Australia has announced a new high-brightness projector for large venues and immersive installations, with a model that adds interchangeable lenses to the company’s Z Series range.
The Fujifilm Projector ZUH12000 supports 4K projection and outputs up to 12,000 lumens. Fujifilm said the unit will go on sale in August 2026, alongside a set of optional lenses.
The ZUH12000 marks a product change for the Z Series. Fujifilm said it is the first model in the line to use an interchangeable-lens body. Earlier Z Series projectors used fixed lenses with a rotating mechanism aimed at short-throw, multi-directional installations.
Lens options
Fujifilm has developed three optional lenses for the ZUH12000. They include an ultra-short-throw lens, a short-throw lens and a standard lens.
The ultra-short-throw lens, the FP-ZL034, has a throw ratio of 0.34-0.41. The short-throw FP-ZL050 has a throw ratio of 0.5-0.65. The standard FP-ZL125 has a throw ratio of 1.25-2.0.
Fujifilm highlighted the FP-ZL034 as the lens that incorporates what it calls the industry’s only “folded-type rotatable mechanism”. The company said the lens supports 360-degree rotation.
Fujifilm also specified lens shift figures for the FP-ZL034. It stated 60% vertical shift and 30% horizontal shift. The company described this as “one of the widest lens-shift ranges in its class”.
Fujifilm said users can shift the projected image without changing the projector’s position or the lens orientation. It said this makes image adjustments more efficient. It also said users can project onto walls, screens, ceilings and floors without moving the projector unit or adjusting lens direction.
Brightness push
Fujifilm positioned the ZUH12000 for settings with ambient light. It referenced exhibitions, presentations, corporate showrooms and commercial facilities.
The company compared the model with the Fujifilm Projector ZUH6000. It said the new unit achieves twice the brightness. Fujifilm said it has also improved contrast and the reproduction of deep blacks.
The ZUH6000, launched in 2025, delivered 4K projection with a 6,000-lumen rating. Fujifilm also released the Z8000 in 2021, which it described as a high-brightness model.
Image engine
The ZUH12000 uses a DLP chip in its image processing unit. Fujifilm said it uses the latest DLP chip available for this class of projector.
Fujifilm said the projector incorporates a 0.8-inch HEP DMD DLP chip. The company specified a screen resolution of 3840 × 2400.
Fujifilm said it enhanced the optical engine used in the ZUH6000. It said this delivers colour reproduction and smooth gradation expression.
Laser light source
The ZUH12000 uses a laser light source. Fujifilm said this supports the projector’s 12,000-lumen output.
The company also disclosed the unit’s physical specifications. It stated an approximate weight of 18.1 kg.
Fujifilm listed dimensions of 535 mm wide, 396 mm deep and 189 mm high.
Product background
Fujifilm introduced the Z Series in 2019. The company said it commercialised the world’s first projector equipped with a “folded two-axial rotatable lens mechanism”.
Fujifilm has positioned the Z Series around installation flexibility. It said the projectors’ rotating lens mechanism supports multi-directional image projection and large-screen projection at very short distances.
Fujifilm also quoted customer feedback about the line. “The projector offers exceptional installation flexibility and expands the possibilities of spatial production,” said Fujifilm. “It can be installed discreetly, allowing the creation of highly immersive environments,” said Fujifilm.
Upcoming showcase
Fujifilm said it will showcase the ZUH12000 at Integrated Systems Europe 2026 in Barcelona.
Fujifilm said it will continue developing projectors that “offer exceptional installation flexibility”, and it said it will do so by “leveraging its unique optical technologies”.
