Proulx first tried on a pair of skis at the age three during a family trip to Tahoe in California.

By seven, she was competing in events, and her Olympic dream was born.

The recent high school graduate has some experience at international events, having finished 14th at the 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin, in the People’s Republic of China.

But Proulx’s latest achievement goes well beyond sporting excellence.

After initially failing to make the slalom qualifying standard by a tiny margin, she showed immense resilience, determination, and composure to secure the required time in her final qualifying race.

She will compete alongside the likes of Mikaela Shiffrin, and Proulx is training six days a week from her U.S. base to ensure she delivers a best-ever performance in the Italian Dolomites.

Proulx hopes to inspire more athletes from her nation to compete in winter sports, knowing that they do belong on the world stage.

“I just want to go in with a positive mindset and represent the Philippines in a positive light and take away the whole experience, of course, and just enjoy it without having to put too much pressure on myself because I think I perform best when I’m, of course, happy and surrounded by such inspirational figures,”
