WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A boil water advisory is in place in Waynesville due to a water line break, town officials confirmed Sunday morning.

According to a social media post by the Town of Waynesville, the boil water advisory applies to all water used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation. Residents are asked to boil water “vigorously” for at least one minute before consumption.

Hazelwood Avenue in Waynesville is closed due to a downed power line, town officials confirmed.

Additionally, Mull Street and Ridge Road are without water service due to a water line break, with repairs underway. Repairs could take all day to complete, officials said.
