UN Peace Council Director in Gaza, Nickolay Mladenov, said he is concerned about developments in the Gaza Strip. He wrote on X, adding: “Armed Hamas operatives emerging from a tunnel in Rafah and Israeli strikes, which tragically also killed civilians – such developments endanger the progress achieved.” According to Mladenov, “Everyone must show restraint and uphold the ceasefire while the technocratic committee prepares to assume civil and security responsibilities, and shift Gaza’s path from violence and destruction to recovery and rehabilitation.”
