Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the special session marking 77 years since the establishment of the Knesset that “a large part of the nation is crying out, and we must find a way to restore the balance between the three branches of government.” According to Netanyahu, “This – alongside majority rule – is the essence of democracy. The way to protect individual rights alongside majority rule, and ensure that one authority does not trample another.”
