The Fallout Season 2 finale has aired, and its post-credits scene reveals where the post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama will head next. The scene in question not only sets up Season 3’s storyline but also teases one of its major villains. Season 3 was renewed in May 2025, ahead of the sophomore installment’s December 2025 release.
Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner co-created Fallout for Amazon Prime Video. The series is based on the popular, long-running role-playing video game franchise of the same name. Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, Xelia Mendes-Jones, Walton Goggins, and Frances Turner make up the main cast.

Fallout Season 2 finale post-credits scene explained
The Fallout Season 2 finale‘s post-credits scene focuses on the Brotherhood of Steel. Notably, this group was absent for several episodes of the second half of the second season.
In the scene, Dane — a scribe for the Brotherhood of Steel — brings the mysterious remnants to the leader, Elder Quintus, which the latter had requested. After placing them on the table and opening them at Quintus’s order, Dane asks him what they are.
Quintus responds while limping over to the table that he tried to unite the Brotherhood out of the virtue of his heart, expressing regret for doing so. He subsequently reveals his changed mindset by saying, “Quintus the Unifier is dead. Quintus the Destroyer is born.”
The camera then pans to blueprints for a big mechanical suit named Liberty Prime Alpha — something fans of the games will be familiar with.
For the uninitiated, Liberty Prime plays an important role in Fallout 3 and Fallout 4. It was designed by the United States Army before the Great War as a superweapon to combat the Communist powers of China. Its massive size meant that it could topple settlements in a matter of seconds. Unfortunately, the lack of a suitable power source prevented its deployment, and it ended up becoming dormant within the Pentagon for 200 years after the onset of the nuclear apocalypse.
The Brotherhood of Steel, under Owyn Lyons’ leadership, later discovered Liberty Prime. After multiple failed attempts to restore its functionality, they succeeded with Dr. Madison Li’s help. Following this, the Brotherhood deployed the machine in its war against the Enclave. The machine proved to be a dangerous opponent to the Enclave and other opposing factions. Unfortunately, the Enclave destroyed Liberty Prime, leaving the Brotherhood’s forces considerably weakened.
