The Health Ministry announced that a one-year-old unvaccinated infant died from measles. The infant was evacuated to Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, where his death was pronounced. The Health Ministry further stated that all children are recommended to be vaccinated at age one and age six as part of the routine vaccination program, and that in measles outbreak areas it is recommended to advance the second vaccine dose to age one and a half. In addition, the Health Ministry recommended giving an additional vaccine dose to infants aged 6-11 months residing in measles outbreak areas.
