The Open Call for the next Experimental Fellowship, in partnership with material data platform revalu is now open. Experimental Foundation’s Spring Fellowship with revalu supports practice based research by emerging architectural practices with applied industry experience. The Fellowship is aimed at practitioners who seek to contribute to a transformative shift in the building sector. It is intended for architects collaborating with clients (developers, public or private) or industry partners who seek to implement regenerative, circular, and climate-conscious solutions in pilot projects, through innovative, systemic-analytical approaches.

With a focus on applied project planning and delivery processes, and the exchange and dissemination of knowledge, the Fellowship strengthens both research and practical implementation. It enables architects to test and document strategies with regenerative materials, while expanding their expertise and professional visibility. At its core is “Phase Zero” – the initial concept and design phase – where participants assess existing conditions, analyze needs, monitor life cycles, and make informed decisions about materials, interventions, and collaborations.

This Fellowship brings together Experimental’s expertise and network in practice-based, systemic-analytical architectural research with revalu’s digital infrastructure for low-carbon material decision-making throughout Europe. It empowers talented emerging practitioners to expand and apply their expertise while turning investigations into applied solutions, through active collaboration and co-design with the Experimental Foundation and revalu. Working with the revalu material library, which is grounded in up-to-date EPD data and a collaborative digital workspace, teams can develop and document choices with greater speed, clarity, and traceability. The partnership adds a practical layer of guidance and networked expertise, so “Phase Zero” decisions translate into approval-ready specifications and credible evidence for implementation.
