Married At First Sight viewers have unearthed social media pictures belonging to one of the contestants for the 2026 season. Steven Danyluk was one of the first grooms to get hitched on the show this year and he was paired up with Rachel Gilmore.
Steven is a seemingly sweet NSW boat mechanic and has been unlucky in love for at least a decade. He dotes on his mum and won fans over early on for being honest despite failing to say his new wife looked incredible on her big day.
But the 34-year-old on the TV screen is a far-cry away from when he was in a band.

His Instagram feed is filled with a bunch of happy snaps, including a period where he had shoulder-length hair a few years ago.
But if you keep scrolling, you’ll get to pictures of him between 2013 to 2015.
I’ll start off by saying that if you went back a decade on anyone’s photos, chances are they would look pretty different to how they are now.
But Steven appeared to be the drummer in a heavy metal band called the Kvlts of Vice, which also would explain his Instagram username StevieStixx.

During this period, he sported jet black hair, along with a nose and lip piercing, and what appeared to be some classic glam rock and roll eye makeup.
Steven doesn’t appear on the Kvlts of Vice’s Facebook album of photos, however it only starts in late 2015 so he could’ve left just before they started their social media page.
Married At First Sight fans couldn’t believe how different Steven looked compared to now.
“Did NOT expect him to be a glam metal fan!! I reckon that works better for [Rachel],” one said.
“Screamed when I saw this,” added another.
“I did wonder about the hole in his lip during the close ups,” said a third.
Before the 2026 season dropped, Channel 9 revealed he spent most of his 20s “chasing the dream of becoming a famous rock star”.
How has Steven been on MAFS 2026 so far?
After ditching the drumsticks, Steven started his own company fixing boats and has found the dating scene a tough nut to crack.
He doesn’t like the apps and swiping left or right, and is looking to find someone who is “ambitious, easygoing, and won’t be offended by his jokes”.
“Steven is willing to throw himself headfirst into the MAFS experiment and hopefully find a woman who accepts him for who he is,” Channel 9 said about the contestant.
He was paired with Rachel, a 35-year-old team leader based in Victoria.

She’s described as a “warm, vibrant and bubbly woman” with a “heart of gold”.
Her dating history has been even more turbulent than Steven, as she hasn’t been in a proper relationship in 14 years after a rocky seven-year situationship.
She told MAFS that none of her previous boyfriends made her feel attractive or told her she was beautiful.
Unfortunately for her, nerves got the better of her groom on their wedding day and he didn’t say anything about how she looked.
They swapped vows on a boat on Sydney Harbour and Steven didn’t really ask her any questions during the reception.
It wasn’t until the day was done that Rachel confronted him about his behaviour.
He confessed that he was an idiot for not complimenting her on such a big day and promised he would be better.
Things have been a little rocky since. They were whisked off to Mudgee for their honeymoon and Steven had a stomach bug that made him feel a little off.

But on Thursday night’s episode, they were getting to know each other and Rachel revealed she’s a diehard Collingwood supporter.
Steven asked whether she gets aggressive while watching the footy and despite her saying no multiple times, he kept the joke going, which sparked a fairly big row.
Tears were shed and left the couple in a very awkward situation.
