Avengers: Doomsday is among the most highly anticipated films this year, along with Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Part 3 and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. While the latter movies also feature a long list of strong performers, the Russo Brothers’ Doomsday undeniably has the longest call sheet with a vast range of MCU superheroes and the X-Men vets joining the gala. With Robert Downey Jr. leading the cast as Doctor Doom, fans were quite sure that other OG Avengers wouldn’t be far behind, and they were right when the first few trailers dropped.

Among the returning Avengers is Chris Hemsworth, reprising Thor. Unlike other standalone MCU movies, Love and Thunder gave a glimpse of Thor’s life post-Infinity Saga, and now he has a daughter as well. The trailer featuring the actor was released to much fanfare and saw the God of Thunder asking for strength from all fathers to defeat one last enemy so he can return to his daughter. It was appreciated for showing us a Thor we’ve come to love in the past decades, which builds a lot of excitement around his return. However, when Hemsworth was asked recently which trailer was his favorite, he had a different one in mind.

Hemsworth revealed that it was the trailer featuring co-star Chris Evans that he loved. “I thought it was pretty cool when [Chris] Evans comes up on the motorbike, and because no one knew he was going to be in the film, and then there he is,” Hemsworth told GamesRadar+. The actor further underlined the real-life parallel, saying, “I just thought it was cool. And he had a baby in real life and in Marvel life.” While Evans passed on the Captain America mantle to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) in Endgame, he’s still the Steve Rogers we know.

What Is ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ About?

It is interesting to note that Hemsworth signaled out Steve being a father in the trailer, as that seems to be a running theme in his trailer as well, and coupled with the fact that Doctor Doom came for Franklin Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, it could be one of the things that brings the OG Avengers together. Nonetheless, what the story entails is anyone’s guess at this point. No plot details have been revealed, but incursions, as hinted at in previous MCU films, will bring a lot of chaos.
