‘He’s always been very supportive, but also leaves her alone to get on with the job,’ said carriage driving coach Sara Howe in a conversation with Hello!. Howe regularly sees Lady Louise out competing on the carriage driving circuit, where she is often accompanied by Felix and her mother, the Duchess of Edinburgh, and her brother, James, Earl of Wessex.
Howe recalled how one night, after a busy day at the Glebe, the lovebirds joined in with a party. ‘They’re just lovely,’ she explained, adding that ‘they’ve got their own privacy.’ According to Howe, Lady Louise and Felix are just as low-key as they appear, with the coach noting that they ‘certainly aren’t put out on a pedestal and that nobody can go anywhere near them. They’re totally the opposite from that.’
In August, Felix accompanied his royal belle to the National Carriage Driving Championships at the Ashfields Carriage and Polo Club, where onlookers saw him pumping his fist as Lady Louise rode into the water, clearly delighted with her success. Dressed in a shirt from her family home, Bagshot Park, Lady Louise, who inherited her love of the sport from her grandfather, Prince Philip, was seen getting close with da Silva-Clamp before the race and beaming as she completed the course.

Earlier that June, she was joined by her mother and da Silva-Clamp at the Sandringham Festival of Carriage Driving. Lady Louise was competing in the annual event in Norfolk, and was seen driving her carriage across the concourse with Felix walking alongside, dressed in a blue shirt. The trio were also joined by Prince Philip’s close friend, Penny Knatchbull.
Last November, Felix was by Lady Louise’s side as the pair took part in the St Andrews Regiments’ Day Parade with the St Andrews University Officers’ Training Corps. Lady Louise Windsor is said to be passionate about military service, and is rumoured to be considering joining the Armed Forces following her training in the Army Cadets at St Andrews. Should she do so, Lady Louise would be the first female royal to join the Forces since her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
