Oscar nominees KPop Demon Hunters, Sinners, and Train Dreams were among the winners at the 77th annual Society of Composers and Lyricists Awards.

The chart-topping, Grammy-winning track “Golden” from Netflix’s animated hit won the SCL Award for Best Original Song for a Comedy or Musical Visual Media Production for songwriters Ejae and Mark Sonnenblick. KPop Demon Hunters is also Gold Derby’s frontrunner to win the Best Song Oscar on March 15.

The corresponding race for Best Original Song for a Dramatic or Documentary Visual Media Production went to Ludwig Göransson and Raphael Saadiq for the Sinners tune “I Lied to You.” Göransson, fresh off two Grammy wins for Ryan Coogler’s period vampire blockbuster, also claimed the trophy for Best Original Score for a Studio Film. Sinners is out front to win the Best Score Oscar. Göransson and Coogler also received the SCL’s 2026 Spirit of Collaboration honor.

Rounding out the movie categories, Train Dreams composer Bryce Dessner took home the statuette for Best Original Score for an Independent Film. Dessner and cowriter Nick Cave are nominated at the Oscars for Best Original Song for the film’s title tune.

For TV, Cristobal Tapia De Veer, the multiple Emmy winner who quit the series after clashing with creator Mike White, won Best Original Title Sequence for a Television Production for The White Lotus Season 3. Another Emmy winner, Theodore Shapiro, claimed Best Original Score for a Television Production for Severance Season 2.

The society is the leading organization for professional film, television, video game, and musical theater composers and lyricists. The ceremony was held Feb. 6 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, and hosted by the Bacon Brothers (Kevin and Michael).

Also on Friday, the gala celebrated the 50th anniversary of Rocky with a musical tribute and performance conducted by Oscar winner Bill Conti, who scored five films in the blockbuster franchise, and Melissa Manchester performed “I’ll Never Say Goodbye” during the “In Memoriam” segment.
