The Xiaomi 17 series of flagship phones arrived in China last year. The company unveiled the standard and Plus models in September, while the Ultra version arrived in December. Since then, the international public has been eagerly awaiting these premium devices. Recent leaks related to the global version of these handsets hinted at a potential reduction in battery life due to a smaller cell. Now, a new leak reveals the tech specs of the global Xiaomi 17 (standard model), also reflecting a smaller battery compared to the Chinese variant.
Global Xiaomi 17 to have a 6,330mAh battery, as per latest specs leak
The new leaked document was shared by tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore on X/Twitter. According to the image, the global version of the Xiaomi 17 will likely feature a 6,330mAh battery. This is a massive capacity by most standards without a doubt. However, it still represents roughly a 10% drop from the 7,000mAh cell found in the Chinese edition.
It is a curious trend often seen in the industry. Regional certifications or internal hardware adjustments result in slightly leaner versions for the global market. Despite the smaller capacity, the charging technology remains impressive. Xiaomi plans to include its 100W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge support.

No 16GB RAM for global markets
The global Xiaomi 17 will reportedly run on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. However, international buyers might have fewer choices when it comes to memory. The leak indicates only two configurations—both with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. If true, this skips the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage options available in its home market. The current global memory shortage probably influenced this decision.
On the aesthetic side, Xiaomi is swapping things up. While black, light blue, and pink color variants are staying. The white model appears to be replaced by a new dark green variant for international audiences, though.
Pricing leaks
Xiaomi seems to be timing this launch to go head-to-head with its biggest rivals. The Xiaomi 17 and its more powerful sibling, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, are expected to debut in Europe just before MWC 2026 kicks off in early March.
In terms of pricing, the standard model is expected to start at €999 for the 256GB version. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra could reach €1,499. This puts the Xiaomi 17 in direct competition with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. Interestingly, even with the 10% battery downgrade, the Xiaomi 17 still holds a significant capacity advantage over the rumored 5,000 mAh battery in Samsung’s upcoming Ultra model.
