Betrayal is ITV fans’ next gripping spy thriller with Endeavour icon Shaun Evans and Vigil actress Romola Garai at its heart.
The wait is over as Betrayal, which comes from the production company behind ITV ’s Code of Silence, is airing tonight, Sunday, February 8, at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
The four-part series revolves around MI5 operative John Hughes (played by Shaun Evans) who is scheduled to meet a British-Iranian informant who claims to have knowledge of a pending terrorist plot.
However, a major spanner is thrown in the works when the man is killed before they can speak and John winds up killing the assassin in self-defence.
But he quickly finds himself under an intense internal investigation at MI5, causing him to question what happened and if this is really the right career for him anymore.

When is Betrayal next on?
Spy thriller Betrayal premieres on Sunday, February 8, at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
ITV’s latest drama is a four-part series but thankfully, there isn’t too long to wait before the second episode is ready to watch.
Betrayal season one, episode two, is going to debut tomorrow, Monday, February 9, in the same timeslot of 9pm on ITV.
The series will follow this same release pattern next week with episodes three and four coming out on Sunday and Monday.

For those who don’t want to wait to find out how Betrayal ends, fans can now binge-watch the entire boxset on ITV’s free streaming service ITVX.
Leading the cast is Endeavour star Shaun Evans as John Hughes who reunites with his former Vigil co-star Romola Garai as his partner Claire Wardly.
They are joined by Beyond Paradise’s DS Esther Williams’ Zahra Ahmadi, comedian Omid Djalili, The Outlaws’ Gamba Cole and Shameless’ Anthony Flanagan.
Emmerdale fans will also be delighted to see Delilah Dingle actress Hayley Tamaddon as Iranian dissident Fatemah Feyzi.
