Northern Israel has officially entered the padel game. On Friday, February 6, the region’s first dedicated padel club was inaugurated in Nesher, marking a major milestone in the rapid rise of one of Israel’s fastest-growing sports.
Located next to the Great Shape Country Club, the new complex positions Nesher at the forefront of Israel’s padel boom, bringing the internationally popular sport north for the first time.
The courts were built and are operated by PadelNet, a company specializing in advanced padel facilities. The club features four state-of-the-art padel courts imported from Spain and designed with a strong connection to their natural surroundings. Nestled within the greenery of Mount Carmel, the courts were intentionally built in a brown color palette rather than the traditional blue, allowing them to blend harmoniously with the landscape.
The opening event was attended by Nesher Mayor Roy Levy, who didn’t just cut the ribbon – he stepped onto the court and joined a game himself. Speaking at the event, Levy announced a new partnership between the municipality and the club, which will include padel courses and organized programs for children, teenagers, and women, expanding access to the sport as part of the city’s broader community and wellness initiatives.
Padel, a dynamic sport combining elements of tennis and squash, has seen explosive growth across Israel in recent years.
With the launch of this new club, Nesher becomes the first city in northern Israel to offer a professional, purpose-built padel facility – bringing the game to the Carmel and putting the city firmly on the national sports map.
