The European Commission has unconditionally approved Google’s proposed acquisition of cloud security firm Wiz, concluding that the deal raises no competition concerns in the European Economic Area (EEA).
Following an extensive market investigation, the Commission found that the transaction would not harm competition in the fast-growing cloud security and cloud infrastructure markets, where Google competes with major players such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
Wiz provides a cloud-native application protection platform that enables large businesses to secure applications across multiple cloud environments, while Google offers cloud infrastructure and security services through its Google Cloud Platform.
