HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (KKTV) – Douglas County deputies responded to quite a unique call in January! Deputies said they had to catch a wallaby that was on the run in a Highlands Ranch neighborhood.
On January 29, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) said deputies received a call that a kangaroo was on the loose — but the suspect in question ended up being Charlie the Wallaby.
Deputies said Charlie is pretty well known throughout the Denver area and has his own Instagram account.
Charlie was able to make it home, and deputies were invited inside to pet him and feed him treats.
“I’m not going to lie, this is going to be the highlight of my year,” one sergeant said.
