An altercation erupted between Palestinians and Israeli settlers around the village of Talfit on Friday morning, Army Radio reported.
According to reports, Palestinians approached an illegal farm established by Jewish settlers on private land in Area B of the West Bank. Police told KAN that dozens of Palestinians attacked the farm, and that two of the settlers required medical attention.
In retaliation, the settlers descended on Talfit, damaging cars and attacking the residents. Locals claim that Hilltop Youth smashed seven cars, and that four people were wounded, including one by gunfire.
The IDF dispersed the chaos and remained in the village. Police opened an investigation, but no arrests have been reported.
Conflicts between Palestinians and settlers in the West Bank have occurred several times in recent months, and are expected to increase following a court decision on Sunday altering how West Bank land is treated.
Until Sunday, a series of rules were in place requiring additional approvals from the IDF legal division, the Civil Administration, the Palestinian Authority, and others for purchasing or building on land in the West Bank.
On Sunday, the government announced that it was repealing or streamlining many of those rules to make it easier for Jewish Israelis to acquire land in areas where, previously, doing so had been much harder.
