Blades of Fire launched last year on consoles and as a PC exclusive on the Epic Games Store. We checked it out on PlayStation 5, and Mike Crewe jumped into the experience, praising it for its challenging combat and weapon-forging system.
A while back, we got a teaser for an upcoming announcement that seemed to be hinting at Steam release. Since then, we received the Blades of Fire announcement for its imminent Steam launch and the 2.0 version. You can learn more about that in our news piece right here!
The upcoming Steam launch is still a few months away, as the 14th of May 2026 release date is still somewhat on the horizon. However, those who are eager to jump into the experience still have the opportunity to do so through the Steam demo available right now.
Blades of Fire will be participating in the upcoming Steam Next Fest, but that doesn’t mean that you won’t have to wait for that to kick off to begin your adventure. The demo is available right now — likely set to be available for a while — and covers the first chapter of the game. This means that players should be able to forge their first weapons, partake in the unique combat system, and encounter a big troll at the end, just to get a taste of the journey that awaits Aran of Lira.
Here’s what you need to know about the game!
