Robert Downey Jr. chooses the perfect occasion to share new images of Doctor Doom ahead of Avengers: Doomsday.

After playing Tony Stark/Iron Man throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Infinity Saga movies, Downey is taking on a different kind of role in Avengers: Doomsday with the villainous Doctor Doom. Despite releasing four teaser trailers for the film, the character’s upcoming appearance has been largely shrouded in mystery, and the only glimpse was brief and did not show his face in The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ post-credits scene.

On his Instagram account, Downey has now provided a humorous new look at Doctor Doom through Valentine’s Day-themed images. The first one features an assortment of chocolates that contain the shape of Doctor Doom’s mask, and in the lower left-hand corner, the word “Valentine’s” is crossed out so it reads “Happy Doomsday!” The second image shows the villain holding a bouquet of flowers, six of which resemble him. In a nod to the actor’s previous role of Iron Man, the character serves Doom a peanut cluster in the third image. The final picture is of Doom showing a heart-shaped cupid tattoo that says “Suzie” on it, a reference to Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby). Check out the images below:

This is only Downey’s latest lighthearted and timely way of building further anticipation for Avengers: Doomsday. During Super Bowl Sunday, he posted a picture of him and his wife, Susan Downey, wearing green Doomsday Super Bowl jerseys. On Christmas, he posted artwork tied to the holiday captioned “Silver & Gold” and featuring the masks of Doom and Iron Man. He has also been enthusiastic about embracing the movie’s competition with Dune: Part Three, already calling it “Dunesday” as both highly-awaited franchise blockbusters come to theaters on December 18, and he even shared crossover fan art of his character facing a sandworm on Arrakis.

The inclusion of Iron Man in the Valentine’s Day and Christmas posts has only served to further fuel Avengers: Doomsday theories about connections between Tony Stark and the Multiverse Saga villain. Beyond the nostalgic appeal of seeing Downey back in the MCU, many fans are convinced that there must be a deeper narrative reason behind the actor playing both Iron Man and Doctor Doom, although any confirmation of this is unlikely to be revealed before the movie’s release.

Downey is far from the only returning MCU actor in the Avengers: Doomsday cast. Those confirmed include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Anthony Mackie as Captain America/Sam Wilson, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Letitia Wright as Shuri, and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi. Sue Storm (Kirby) and the rest of the Fantastic Four are in it as well.
