Jacob dated co-star Joey King for over a year before splitting in 2018 – shortly after the first Kissing Booth movie was released.
The two remain cordial as they reprised their roles as Elle Evans and Noah Flynn in the two Kissing Booth sequels.
In an interview with Cosmo in 2020, Joey revealed what it was like filming the movies with Jacob after their split.
“No one’s thinking to themselves, That was easy, because it wasn’t. I’m sure people will analyze every movement and every detail. And you know what? Let them,” Joey said at the time.
“But at the end of the day, I was just thrilled to be Elle Evans again…There’s so much I want to say,” Joey continued. “What’s the most, um, correct way to go about this? Elle Evans needs her Noah Flynn, and whatever that means for my personal life, I’ll do anything to make sure the story of my character who I care about so much is complete.”
