Presidents’ Day is one of the first major sales events of the year, and if you’ve been waiting to buy a new gaming laptop, now’s a great time. Over at Amazon, the Asus ROG Strix G18 is on sale for $1,799, a $301 discount. It comes with an 18-inch 2.5K screen, an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD.

Not a bad deal, if I say so myself, but it gets even better. Purchase the Strix G18 during the sales event, and you’ll receive codes for two upcoming games at no extra cost. One is Crimson Desert, an open-world action RPG from the creators of the popular MMORPG Black Desert Online, and the other is Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth mainline entry in the franchise that brings series favorite Leon Kennedy back to Racoon City.

You’ll have to wait a bit before playing either game. Crimson Desert launches March 19, while Resident Evil Requiem arrives February 27. But both are highly anticipated and worth the wait.

Asus’ ROG Strix G18 delivers serious power. Its top-tier configuration provides more than enough power for modern AAA gaming, heavy multitasking, and demanding creative workloads, pleasing both gamers and power users. The large 18-inch display covers the entire DCI-P3 color gamut and runs at a smooth 240Hz refresh rate, which is great for immersion. To manage heat, the G18 features a robust cooling system with three fans, a full-width heatsink, and vents throughout the chassis.

Do note that this is a hefty machine, measuring 15.71 x 11.73 x 0.93 inches and weighing over seven pounds. But that’s the trade-off for desktop-class hardware in a portable form factor.

How I rated this deal

As per ZDNET’s rating system, I give this deal a 3/5. Between the $300 discount and the two free games, you’re saving well over $400 in total. It’s a solid deal — especially if you were already planning on buying Resident Evil Requiem.

Amazon says the Crimson Desert code will be emailed within two business days after the laptop is shipped. You have until May 23 to redeem the code. The retailer doesn’t say exactly when you’ll receive the Resident Evil Requiem code, but you will have to redeem it through the Nvidia app onboard.

As per Amazon, this deal will end on April 25.
