Miller, the independent specialist insurance and reinsurance broker, has announced the appointment of Sailesh Divakaram as Head of Treaty Asia.
Based in Miller’s Singapore office, Divakaram will report to Richard Broad, Head of Treaty (Asia Pacific).
Together, Divakaram and Broad will focus on driving the continued growth of Miller’s regional treaty capability as a core pillar of the broker’s global reinsurance platform. Divakaram will lead the development of the team serving Miller’s rapidly expanding client base across Asia.
He brings more than 30 years of industry experience spanning broking, underwriting, and risk management, with deep expertise in the Asian re/insurance market.
Divakaram joins Miller after eight years at Gallagher Re, where he most recently served as Executive Director, responsible for the build-out of its treaty business in Asia. He previously worked within the treaty division at Guy Carpenter.
Broad commented, “The Asian Treaty market represents a significant growth opportunity for Miller as we continue to build out our global reinsurance capabilities. Sailesh’s appointment reflects Miller’s long-term commitment to the market and our continued investment in the industry’s leading talent. As Sailesh grows and develops our Treaty proposition in Asia, we are excited to bring our leading broking and analytics services to a wider pool of clients, combining the scale and infrastructure of our single global reinsurance platform with the deep Asian market expertise of our dedicated regional team.”
Divakaram added, “I am thrilled to have joined Miller and can’t wait to deliver the Miller proposition to our rapidly growing Treaty client base in Asia. To work for a genuine alternative broker with such an experienced team was a hugely attractive opportunity, and I’m excited by our potential to meaningfully enhance the regional Treaty market with Miller’s global reinsurance capabilities.”
