■ Palestinian reports said settlers set fire to a barn in the village of Samu, south of the city of Hebron in the West Bank, on Tuesday morning, burning dozens of sheep to death. Israeli police later contradicted the reports and said that, after an investigation, it had determined the fire was caused by an electrical failure.
■ The Lod District Court extended the restrictive conditions imposed on Tzachi Braverman, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s chief of staff, and prohibited him from leaving the country or contacting members of the Prime Minister’s Office until next Tuesday.
■ U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that he would be involved “indirectly” in talks between Iran and the U.S. over Tehran’s nuclear program set to begin on Tuesday in Geneva, adding he believed Tehran wanted to make a deal.
■ Responding to the riots that erupted on Sunday in the ultra-Orthodox city of Bnei Brak after two female IDF soldiers were attacked by Haredi men and had to be evacuated, Israeli President Isaac Herzog said: “The extremist rioters who attacked the IDF soldiers are tearing themselves away from Israeli society… This is not the entire Haredi public, God forbid, nor is it the majority. This is a handful of rioters.”
■ Eight countries including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates strongly condemned Israel’s decision to designate land in the occupied West Bank as Israeli state land, according to a joint statement published on Tuesday by the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
■ The IDF reported that in the northern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, the Israeli Air Force “eliminated… a terrorist who crossed the Yellow Line and approached IDF troops, posing an imminent threat to their safety.”
