The IDF updated that more than 550,000 residents of the Gaza Strip have evacuated from Gaza City and moved southward. In a statement issued by the IDF spokesperson, it was noted that simultaneously, forces from Divisions 162, 98 and 36 have completed their entry into Gaza City and began operations in Hamas terror strongholds in Gaza City. It was further stated that the IDF has identified attempts by Hamas to prevent the movement of civilians southward while using the civilian population as human shields for terror activities. The IDF is leading efforts to adapt infrastructure in the southern Gaza Strip, including expanding field hospitals, repairing and connecting water lines and desalination facilities, and providing aid.
