From pop music to politics and philanthropy!

Pals are whispering that Katy Perry is embracing a new life path now amid her blossoming romance with boyfriend Justin Trudeau.

“Katy has been infused with a sense of purpose and a desire to really change her image,” a source tells In Touch. “Suddenly, being a relevant pop star looks puny compared to what she and Justin can do as a couple.”

Since going public with their relationship in October, the “California Gurls” singer, 41, has joined the former Canadian Prime Minister, 53, on several important international outings.

Donning a conservative cardigan and matching pencil skirt, Perry accompanied Trudeau to Davos, Switzerland, where he gave the keynote speech at the annual World Economic Forum’s Global Soft Power Summit on Monday, January 19.

They also had lunch with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko, on Wednesday, December 3, during a trip to the Land of the Rising Sun.

“She and Justin want to change the world for the better, and they want to do it together,” says the source. “Can they actually pull it off? That’s a different question.”

Trudeau and Perry are certainly going to try.

“It speaks to the health of the relationship that they want to use their respective fame to conquer some big global problems,” says the source. “[By] presenting themselves as a team, they can meet with the richest people on the planet and they can raise money for any cause they want.”

Adds the source: “As long as they’re in it together, Katy is confident they can accomplish anything!”
