American media figure Tucker Carlson claims he and his crew were detained at Ben Gurion Airport after conducting an interview with U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee. This was reported by Carlson to the Daily Mail. He alleges that security personnel confiscated the delegation’s passports and took the chief producer to an interrogation room to inquire about the content of the conversation with the ambassador. Carlson, one of the largest conservative media figures in the U.S., has become a controversial figure in recent years after consistently opposing U.S. President Donald Trump’s policies and frequently attacking Israel, in addition to hosting numerous antisemitic guests on his show. The U.S. State Department denied his claims: “Tucker and his team received the same questions at passport control that countless visitors to Israel, including Ambassador Huckabee and other diplomats, receive as part of the normal entry and exit process from the country.”
