The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court sentenced Yosef Mordechai Froyzer to 20 months in prison. The ultra-Orthodox rabbi called himself Jack Segal, posed as a secular bachelor and defrauded women. He was convicted based on his confession to charges of obtaining something by fraud under aggravating circumstances. He carried out the impersonation on dating sites and provided women with false promises in order to have sexual relations with them. The original indictment stated he deceived 30 women, but the amended indictment on which he was convicted attributes to him the defrauding of 12 women from among them, who agreed to testify.
