It’s official: Paul Mescal is an outfit repeater. The Irish leading man was once again spotted wearing what might just be his favorite sweater at a London screening of Paul McCartney’s documentary “Man on the Run” Wednesday night, a moody blue knit from independent English brand Hades’ Joni Mitchell collection.
The sweater, which is made from 100% wool and retails for $406, has proven to be a versatile staple in both Mescal and his girlfriend Gracie Abrams’ wardrobe; the “Hamnet” star made his first public appearance in the “Blue” pullover (a reference to Mitchell’s 1971 album) while promoting the film at Picturehouse Central in London earlier this month on his 30th birthday, while the singer-songwriter was seen wearing it while getting ready for Vogue World: Hollywood back in Oct. 2025.

At the same event, the notoriously private pair made things red carpet (or, in this case, navy carpet) official, posing for photos alongside McCartney, who Mescal will portray in the four forthcoming “Beatles” biopics from Sam Mendes. (Could any other celebrity couple make their debut while standing on either side of the legend? Probably not.) While the two have shared a few loved-up snaps on Instagram and been caught by paparazzi over the course of their relationship, the screening marked their first public, professional engagement.
Mescal and Abrams’ low-key nature extended to their style choices for the evening as the two made a convincing case for coordinating-but-not-matching couples ensembles; both stars bundled up in oversized coats and donned baseball hats, a distressed grey Aaron Esh cap with pink embroidery for Abrams and one emblazoned with the iconic Boston Red Sox’s “B” for Mescal. (The team also happens to be one of the singer’s favorites — cute!)
Hades also has a range of styles made in collaboration with a number of other iconic musicians, including sweaters with lyrics from Iggy Pop and David Bowie.
