AEW superstar Britt Baker recently shared a story about terrifying wrestling fan experiences causing her to leave her full-time dental career. Baker was one of the first AEW signings back in 2019 and made news for remaining a dentist on her off days from television. Despite being missing from AEW television for quite some time now, Baker is also taking less time at the dental office after a couple of scary experiences.

Britt revealed the following in a Sports Illustrated interview via a red carpet:

“Not full-time anymore. As much as I love the wrestling fans, they’re a little passionate, Baker explained. Sometimes for their own good and for my own safety. And it got a little carried away sometimes with some—some scary wrestling fans wanting to come kill me because I’m a bad guy.”

Baker playing a hated heel character for a large percentage of her AEW time led to some fans a bit too into wrestling storylines finding her in real life. The Florida native had a successful dental career and has joked in the past about fans finding her to become patients at her office. Unfortunately, these scary interactions caused her to no longer practice dentistry full-time.

Will Britt Baker Return To AEW?

The last appearance by Baker for AEW came well over a year ago after a controversial return. Baker was suspended for a backstage incident involving fellow top star MJF and had a polarizing program with Mercedes Mone. AEW slowed down on using Baker since then, but AEW President Tony Khan has claimed he plans to bring her back at the right time.

Baker said the following about her wrestling return:

“I just love that the fans are still talking about me. So, keep the chatter up, ’cause I love it and just stay tuned.”

Few female performers have made as strong of an impact as Baker has throughout AEW’s short history. Baker was considered the greatest AEW Women’s Champion by many until Toni Storm changed the game by taking that title to another level. Time will tell if Britt has an AEW return coming to fruition in 2026.

Britt Baker Shows Real Wrestling Issue

Recent years have seen stories emerging of fans getting a little too personal with wrestlers both in person and on social media. Seth Rollins was attacked by a fan during a live episode of WWE television before security got involved to end it.

Various wrestlers have complained about getting harassed on social media and stalked in real life by fans who dislike them. Baker specifically talked about fans buying into her heel character showing up and striking enough fear into her to warrant leaving her full-time dentist job.

Baker made the best decision for her life and has made it clear she’s still focusing on wrestling, despite not being on television since November of 2024. AEW must start using Baker soon while under contract, or she may be WWE bound once her deal expires. The current AEW women’s division is more stacked than ever before, but a talent like Baker could always make her own impact.
