Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, has signed a military order classifying a number of Palestinian online media platforms as affiliates of Hamas.

According to the Israeli decision, Hamas is allegedly using these platforms to incite unrest among Palestinians, particularly in Jerusalem, during the month of Ramadan.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported a warning issued by the Shin Bet security agency. The agency said: “There is a deliberate attempt to stir unrest and incite violence, with a focus on Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa.”

The Shin Bet added that five online platforms were operating as Hamas affiliates, especially those managed from Turkey. It said action would be taken against them under Israel’s counter-terrorism law.

The Israeli report also stated that the information had been shared with US officials.
