THE Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is expected to announce its dividend for the 2025 financial year at a media briefing on Feb 28.

The briefing is expected to be chaired by EPF chief executive officer Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn, and will be closely followed by the EPF’s more than 16 million members.

Analysts had earlier predicted that the EPF is expected to deliver a dividend rate of between 6.3 per cent and 6.5 per cent for 2025.

For the year 2024, the EPF declared a dividend rate of 6.3 per cent for both its conventional and Shariah savings accounts.

Based on the EPF’s nine-month 2025 performance, which recorded an 11 per cent increase in gross investment income, the retirement fund remains on track to post a respectable dividend payout for the year.

In recent years, EPF dividend rates have remained resilient despite global market volatility, supported by steady investment income and prudent risk management.

The strengthening of the ringgit against other currencies has also played an important role in boosting the country’s investments. – February 24, 2026
