26 Democratic lawmakers have introduced a bill that would impose restrictions on American military aid to Israel. The proposal, which is backed by the pro-Israel left-wing organization ‘J Street,’ requires the administration to report to Congress every 90 days on whether Israel is complying with the ceasefire terms in Gaza, and stipulates that any such violation would lead to a ban on arms transfers. The bill also states that the administration does not have the authority to transfer $10 billion to the ‘Peace Council,’ as President Donald Trump promised last week. The proposal has no real chance of passing in the Republican-controlled Congress.
