Summary
Plasma 6.7 is in active development; weekly posts show ongoing tweaks.
Selection highlights now use rounded corners for a sleeker, more consistent menu and list styling.
6.7 also adds a Vietnamese lunar calendar, a better favorite alert for Kickoff, and a revoke-all remote-cast toggle.
If you’re a KDE Plasma user, there’s a good chance you’ve already begun checking out the brand new KDE Plasma 6.6 update and everything it has to offer. However, as good as 6.6 is, the KDE team isn’t resting yet. In fact, it seems like it’s full steam ahead on making 6.7 the best that it can be.
Fortunately, we don’t have to sit around and wait for 6.7 to release to see what’s new. Because KDE Plasma is open source, we can take a peek at what everyone’s working on and their current progress. Best of all, the KDE community puts together a “This Week in Plasma” blog post that curates all the changes applied over the last seven days.

It’s part of a redesign to make the UI more consistent

Over in the latest issue of This Week in Plasma, the KDE community has collected all the cool things people have been working on lately. My personal favorite change is a subtle but stylish change to how highlights look in menus. Instead of being the default box-like look, these now have sleek, rounded edges. You can see the comparison in the image above.
However, as the KDE community explains, these corners go a lot further than just looking nice:
Rolled out the beginnings of a new rounded style for selection highlights in Breeze-themed QtWidgets-based apps, like Dolphin, Okular, and KMail. This brings them the style we’ve been using for years for list highlights in QtQuick-based apps and menu items everywhere, and paves the way for all of them to be consistently styled from a central location by the upcoming Union styling system. KDE Plasma 6.7 will also introduce the Vietnamese lunar calendar to the Digital Clock widget, a better visual alert whenever you favorite an app in the Kickoff application to better signal that it succeeded, and a new toggle in the Application Permissions page that lets you revoke all remote casting sessions in case you have a few active. KDE Plasma 6.7 won’t be out for a little while yet, so don’t expect these to be out until around June; however, it’s still exciting to see all the tweaks being made to it, week by week.
