Now that Daniel Redcliffe has squashed any hopes that he would play Wolverine in the MCU, the door is open for the former Boy Who Lived to take on a different hero, perhaps one from a different universe. Since his time as Harry Potter, Radcliffe has made it a priority to take on odd roles that go against type.
Radcliffe left the Wizarding World movies behind in 2011 and quickly took on more adult roles with The Woman in Black and Kill Your Darlings. From there, he took on some smaller roles, including a cameo in Trainwreck and playing himself in BoJack Horseman. But in 2016, he got real weird with it, playing a farting dead body in Swiss Army Man.
That movie set Radcliffe on a journey of unexpected choices, which he continues to do to this day. Clearly, he isn’t interested in playing the big blockbuster characters. Which is why DC’s most faceless detective is perfect for him.
Daniel Radcliffe Is The Answer To The Question

Radcliffe clearly isn’t interested in being a basic leading man. The actor is more interested in offbeat roles, like playing Weird Al. When it comes to offbeat characters, DC Comics is full of them. But the one that would best suit Radcliffe is Steve Ditko’s classic creation, the Question.

Exclusive: Daniel Radcliffe reveals the two non-Harry Potter movies that people always talk to him about, and which one used to surprise him.
The character goes against everything any regular actor wants. His face is not just completely covered, it has no facial features. Playing a role like this would be a Herculean undertaking. And yes, while Robert Downy Jr. did a similar thing as Iron Man, the ability to go inside the helmet to see RDJ’s face, allowing him to use his eyes and face to emote. That concept wouldn’t work with the Question.
Along with the challenge that comes from playing a faceless hero, the Question’s personality fits right in with what Radcliffe seems to look for in his roles. The Question, who goes by Vic Sage when he isn’t solving mysteries, is a powerless hard-boiled detective who has a tendency to get wrapped up in conspiracies while struggling to get along with other heroes. This would make him an unusual figure in superhero movies and TV.
Daniel Radcliffe Playing The Question Would Match James Gunn’s Style As Well

With his love of oddball characters and easy to work with actors, it seems like the Question and Daniel Radcliffe would both be on James Gunn’s radar. The Question could easily fit into the world Gunn has been building, and Radcliffe has shown himself to be cordial and open to ensemble work with shows like Miracle Workers and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins.
Add in that Gunn is setting up a large governmental conspiracy within the DCU, and that makes a character like Question, who was more conspiracy-minded in the Justice League Unlimited animated series than he is in the comics, a good character to bring into the mix. Question is the type of character who can work in scenes with Peacemaker as easily as Superman or Batman.
He is also the type of character who doesn’t need his own series or movie. Question can go in and out of other people’s stories without needing to be the focus, which may be more up Radcliffe’s alley. After all, he may want to avoid long contracts that lie on his shoulders after spending years as Harry Potter.
But that doesn’t mean there isn’t enough meat on the bones for the Question to be the lead of a story if they so wish. The character can be the featureless face of his own show or movie if it fits into the DC Studios blueprint, but he isn’t a Wonder Woman level character where it would seem odd to never give him the full spotlight.
