Gabriel Butler from Truro has been shortlisted for Boom Radio’s One More Dream competition, a nationwide campaign run in partnership with Ambassador Cruise Line.
The competition offers performers from the 60s and 70s generation another chance to achieve their musical dreams.
He later moved into digital music development for early computers in the 1980s.
The winner of the competition will have their record professionally produced by Mike Batt and will perform live aboard the Ambassador’s Ambience cruise ship during the four-night One More Dream- Hamburg’s Festive Delights itinerary.
The sailing departs from London Tilbury on December 6, 2026.
The judging panel includes Boom Radio presenters Graham Dene and Judi Spiers, singer-songwriter Suzi Quatro, and producer Mike Batt, with Tony Christie and Tony Hadley joining to select the final winner.
Gordon Nardini, chief marketing officer at Ambassador Cruise Line, said: “One More Dream offers performers from the 60s and 70s generation the chance to fulfil a long-held musical ambition, firmly proving that it is never too late to chase and fulfil our ambitions.
“This amazing initiative is a heartfelt, uplifting project that taps into the stories and passions of the Boomer generation and offers a wonderful platform for a talented singer such as Gabriel Butler to make it happen a second time around.
“Many congratulations to Gabriel for being shortlisted.”
