As the mother-of-two brought home her fashion keepsakes from her tour, it seems she has added the necklace to her collection of everyday jewels – the pieces she wears for a normal day of royal work, rather than the tiaras and gemstones that make an appearance during her galas and banquets. What other reliable pieces make up the Duchess of Edinburgh’s everyday jewellery box? Tatler reveals all below.

This Rome-based jewellery brand has delivered some of Sophie’s favourite pieces in recent years. Since making her debut in the Africa ring and the Poetica earrings during her official visit to Malta on 8 October 2024, the Duchess has turned to them more than any other jewel, wearing them on almost every single royal engagement she makes. From Chad and Ethiopia to Nepal, New York, and Japan, the ring and the earrings have travelled around the world with one of the royal family’s most hard-working members.
The ring, described as a ‘uniquely irregular design evoking the African land’ is considered a ‘wearable work of art’, while the earrings ‘evoke the fleeting beauty of a flower’ and serve as ‘a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us’.
The Duchess owns a number of pieces from the brand, including earrings and a necklace from the Nodo collection and a bracelet in an elegant leaf design.
