Disgraced former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had a plea for his nephew, Prince William. In a new documentary airing on Channel 5 in the UK, forensic lip reader Nicola Hickling sheds light on what the 66-year-old said during one of his last public outings before he was formally stripped of his royal titles and the scandal around his relationship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein exploded, reported the Daily Mail.
At the funeral of Katharine, Duchess of Kent (the wife of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin) in September of 2025, Andrew allegedly turned to William and said: “I’ve learnt from what I’ve done but before I forget, and if I can, I’d like to ask you if you can forgive?”

William, 43, offered no reply. Andrew then left William and his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, aka Kate Middleton, standing on the steps of Westminster Cathedral.
According to the lip reader, Kate, 44, said to her husband, “He seemed very sorry.”
“Do you think I deserved that? Is that what you mean?” William replied to his wife, who simply repeated herself, saying again, “He seemed very sorry.”
One month later, Andrew would be stripped of his royal titles, and by 2026, he would vacate his longtime home of Royal Lodge and be arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
