The 79-year-old icon set tongues wagging after stepping out with a massive diamond sparkler on her left ring finger at son Chaz Bono’s wedding on Monday, March 9.
As first reported by Page Six, Cher was spotted arriving at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel wearing not only a giant rock, but also what appeared to be a wedding band.
Cher watched her 57-year-old son — who she shared with the late Sonny Bono — marry longtime partner Shara Blue Mathes in one of the hotel’s ballrooms. The couple has been together since 2017.

Despite keeping her outfit casual in a star-patterned sweatsuit and sneakers, it was the jewelry that stole the spotlight.

Reps for Cher and boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards have not commented on the fresh marriage speculation, according to the outlet. The couple went public with their romance in late 2022 and have repeatedly defended their 40-year age gap.
Rumors of a possible engagement have surfaced before: In 2023, Cher showed off a large diamond ring gifted by Edwards, calling it the “best Christmas gift” she’d ever received in an interview with Access Hollywood.
Still, per Page Six, a spokesperson insisted in December 2025 that there were “absolutely no plans for a wedding.”
