Cork University Hospital locks down in battle against contagious viral outbreak

Cork University Hospital is pleading with friends and family members of patients at the facility to stay away as it struggles to get a handle on a major viral outbreak.

The hospital has drastically increased visitor restrictions and has gone into lockdown, including securing its entrances, as it battles against what it calls “an unprecedented surge of norovirus (winter vomiting bug) across the hospital.”
