Coronation Street fan favourite Todd Grimshaw is set to be subjected to further abuse by evil Theo Silverton even though the pair have already split up, much to the relief of fans, on the ITV soap
Coronation Street teases dark twist for Todd Grimshaw amid harrowing abuse plot
Coronation Street fan favourite Todd Grimshaw has been at the centre of a harrowing abuse plot for months – and it doesn’t look like it is coming to an end any time soon.
What started as boyfriend Theo Silverton cutting off from his friends one by one led to him causing the death of his best friend Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) in the crossover with Emmerdale. He has also subjected Todd (Gareth Pierce) to bizarre forms of abuse, which has often been physical, such as pouring milk over his head and forcing him to eat his dinner cold.
Things have also been physical at times, with Theo beating Todd up and threatening him with a knife. Earlier this week, it seemed as if it was finally all over for poor Todd as the pair finally called time on their relationship, but new spoilers have revealed that things are to to take yet another dark turn.

Sarah and Todd spot Theo with a new man
In scenes yet to air on Corrie, Todd’s friend Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) takes him for lunch in a bid to cheer him up, but things sour immediately when he spots none other than Theo at another table with another man. Rovers barmaid Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) then urges Todd to forget about Theo, who promptly arrives at the pub and begins to flirt with Sean Tully (Antony Cotton).
Days later, Theo claims to Todd he’s been offered a job in Belfast and is going to take it. Whether that’s true or not remains to be seen but Theo’s evil ways do not end there, as he coldly slips some drugs into Todd’s drink whilst his back is turned.

Earlier this week, Todd told Theo: “I’m sorry for everything that’s gone on. But? Are you not sorry?” Theo cryptically responded: “Yeah,” to which Todd said: ” I don’t know what else to say, all right? We can’t just keep going on like this. Like, fighting, forgiving, patching things up, and then it all just kicks off all over again. Going round and round and round.”
Theo then concluded that they should finish their relationship, as he said: “Look, you’ll be fine. You’ll get over me. Us. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for everything. Goodbye, Toddles,” and walked out. Reacting to the scenes, one fan wrote on X: “Ahhhh FINALLY Theo & Todd are over!!”

Glenda will set Todd up on a blind date but, once again, Theo will be at the the Bistro at the same time
But others weren’t convinced that this was the end, as one theorised that Theo’s manipulative ways could easily come back to haunt Todd. They wrote: “We know Theo isn’t really leaving, he’s just playing more games with Todd’s head, but from Todd’s POV, there’s now no reason for him to not go straight down to the bank and regain control of his money!
“I wonder where Theo has hidden that tracker on Todd? In his coat, maybe? Surely Todd isn’t still wearing that smart watch Theo gave him when he tracked him the last time?!”
Viewers will know from the flashfoward that aired earlier this month that Theo is one of a handful of potential villains who will be killed off in April, and some are now more convinced than ever that it will be Theo. One said: “It’s too much to hope that is it all over for Todd and Theo, isn’t it?
“Theo is somehow going to worm his way back in. This storyline is starting to go round in circles…. I just need Theo to be found out for the abuser/murderer he is!” Another said: “I wish #Corrie would put us out of our misery with this storyline how many abusers does one soap need!!”
Others took to Reddit to discuss the latest development in the story, with one writing: “Oh yeah can’t stand him. The worst part is how he has everyone fooled into thinking he’s a nice guy… How long is this storyline going to go on for?” Another said: “I really have to hold back from wanting to punch the screen everytime he slithers in.”
Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
