5,863 games released on Steam earned over $100,000 in 2025, Valve says. The figures were shared during the company’s talk at GDC, brought to our attention by Chris Kerr from Game Developer. As shared by Kerr, Tom Giardino, a member of the Steam Business team, also provided figures from the previous years for context. For example, only around 3,000 titles crossed the $100,000 mark in 2020, which highlights how much the platform has grown.

Giardino acknowledged that this level of revenue could mean different things to different teams, ranging from a major win to a “total disaster,” but stressed that a growing number of games are now succeeding on the PC storefront.

As Valve did not specify otherwise, the 5,863 games likely include not only titles released in 2025 but also older games that have been available on the platform for longer.
