Rotel has expanded its Michi line with two new models positioned below the existing Reference Series: the Prestige X430 integrated amplifier and the Prestige Q430 CD player.
X430 integrated amplifier
The X430 is a Class A/B design rated at 210wpc into 8 Ohms (and 340wpc into 4 Ohms). Its onboard DAC is built around an ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M chip. The chip’s ceiling is 32-bit/768kHz, though the press release quotes that figure rather than the maximum bit depth and sample rate supported by each input — a notable omission.
No mind. Digital connectivity includes aptX HD/AAC Bluetooth, coaxial, TOSLINK, USB (Roon Tested), and HDMI ARC with CEC, the latter allowing the X430 to be controlled by any CEC-compatible remote in the system, including the TV’s. HDMI ARC does not appear on any previous Michi model.
On the analogue side, the X430 provides an MM phono stage alongside “multiple analogue inputs” and a 6.35mm headphone output. Dual subwoofer outputs and A/B loudspeaker switching are also included. A full-colour display offers spectrum analyser and VU meter views.
Q430 CD player
The Q430 is a tray-loading CD player built around a fully differential ESS Sabre ES9028PRO DAC chip – the professional-grade variant – configured with four channels per stereo output. Analogue output comes via both RCA and balanced XLR sockets. A coaxial digital output is also provided. Like its bigger brother, the Q5, the Q430 retrieves and displays CD album artwork from the internet, and it does not play SACDs.
Both units feature an aluminium chassis and knurled aluminium volume rotary, consistent with the visual language of the wider Michi range. Rotel notes the Prestige Series draws on circuit topology and power supply approaches established in the Reference line, though no specific technical comparisons between the tiers have been provided. A remote control is included with each model.
North American availability begins this month, with global rollout expected in Q2 2026. The X430 is priced at US$4999/€4999/£4499 and the Q430 at US$3999/€3999/£3599.
