Dhurandhar 2

Dhurandhar: The Revenge hits theaters across the globe tomorrow in multiple languages, and the anticipation is through the roof. But before you grab your popcorn and settle in for the new action sequences, it’s a good time to remember exactly where we left off.

The first film threw a lot of twists our way, setting up a high-stakes mission that is about to explode on the big screen.

The Dhurandhar story started with a flight hijack (Kandahar Hijack, 1999) and an urgent response from Indian Intelligence. To neutralize a massive national threat, they launched “Operation Dhurandhar.” The plan was simple but deadly: send an undercover agent straight into the heart of a terrorist syndicate.

The Rise and Fall of Lyari’s King

This brings us to the dangerous streets of Lyari in Pakistan. A man named Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer Singh) enters the scene, quickly earning the mafia’s trust after saving a local don’s son. However, violence soon escalates. Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna) loses his own son and goes on a brutal revenge spree. He destroys his rival gangs and crowns himself the undisputed ruler of Lyari.

While climbing the ranks, Hamza falls in love with Yalina (Sara Arjun), the daughter of a powerful politician, Jameel Jamali (Rakesh Bedi). But romance in a place like Lyari is a dangerous game. Yalina’s father is the kind of politician who will do anything to keep his power. To protect his seat, Jameel pulls a ruthless, suspended police officer, SP Chaudhary Aslam (Sanjay Dutt), back into the field with one clear target: destroy Rehman Dakait’s criminal empire. At the same time, a corrupt Major (Arjun Rampal) secretly plots the 26/11 attacks under the guise of nationalism, making Hamza’s mission much harder.

The Ultimate Twist

Eventually, the enemies of Lyari’s king join forces. Hamza, the politician, and the suspended cop work together to bring down Rehman’s empire. Right when the dust settles, the movie delivers its biggest shock. Hamza isn’t just a mafia loyalist. He is actually Jaskirat Singh Rangi, an undercover Indian spy who is on a mission beyond neutralizing Rehman and his empire.

Director Aditya Dhar made it clear right before the end credits that taking down the Lyari mafia was just the warm-up. The real hunt for the mastermind behind the terror plots starts now.

Jaskirat’s true mission continues tomorrow in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is sure to be more violent, enthralling, lengthy, yet an engaging feast.

Brace yourself to see what Jaskirat Singh Rangi and India’s IB do to bring down the terror network.
