Out of the 2,537 press accreditations, 618 were for women (24 per cent) and 1,919 for men (76 per cent). This marks a slight increase compared with Beijing 2022, where women accounted for 23 per cent of the press category.
Across the various press categories, female representation varied significantly, ranging from 11 per cent among local journalists (Ex) to 43 per cent among NOC press attachés (NOC E). MPC support staff (Ec) also recorded comparatively higher female representation, at 40 per cent.
