This webinar will provide an overview of the recently launched WHO Consolidated guidance on hepatitis B and C prevention, testing, treatment, service delivery and monitoring: an implementation handbook for a public health approach.
This guidance brings together more than a decade of WHO evidence-based recommendations into a single, practical reference for programme managers, policymakers, clinicians, donors, and partners. Released 10 years after WHO’s first global hepatitis strategy, it is designed to help countries move “from evidence-based recommendations to concrete action,” providing implementation pathways to expand equitable, person-centred hepatitis services at every level of the health system. It is presented in a modular, streamlined format covering prevention – including mother-to-child transmission and birth dose vaccination – testing, simplified treatment approaches, and data monitoring systems. By simplifying and consolidating WHO guidance, the handbook helps countries strengthen integrated hepatitis services and accelerate progress towards elimination by 2030.
