Jimmy Kimmel talks his Emmy award at ‘South Park’ premiere

Jimmy Kimmel joked that he kept his Emmy award mounted on the hood of his car at the “South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut” premiere in 1999.

After an abrupt suspension, ABC confirmed “Jimmy Kimmel Live!‘ will return Tuesday evening with a slew of new guests.

The late-night talk show was suspended indefinitely on Sept. 17 following backlash from Nexstar Media Group, Sinclair Broadcast Group and the Federal Communications Commission over comments host Jimmy Kimmel made on a Sept. 15 episode regarding the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk.

On Monday, Sept. 22, the Walt Disney Company announced Kimmel’s show would return to air after “thoughtful conversations.” The show’s official Instagram page posted a photo of Kimmel smiling beside comedian and late-night sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez with a caption that read “We are back full of love.”

But while ABC decided to bring Kimmel back on-air, Nexstar and Sinclair will continue to preempt “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” with other coverage. While it’s still unclear what Kimmel may address tonight regarding his suspension, what is known is that he’ll be welcoming a few Hollywood stars now that his show is back.

Here’s what we know.

The Canadian singer canceled a scheduled performance at a screening for “Lilith Fair: Building a Mystery – The Untold Story,” which premiered on Disney+ and Hulu on Sept. 21, to show support for “free speech,” seemingly in connection with Kimmel’s suspension.

ABC confirmed more guests for the week, including Ethan Hawke and Peyton Manning. However, the confirmed guests did not include comedian Wanda Sykes, who was scheduled to be a guest the evening the show was pulled from the air.
