Fans got a first look at the actor in character as the villain Scytale in the Dune: Part Three trailer, which was released on March 17.
It’s a physical 180 from Pattinson’s recent appearances at the 2026 Oscars and The Drama premiere with co-star Zendaya.

Just weeks after upping the ante with curly long blonde hair in a promo for The Drama opposite Zendaya, Pattinson took the shock factor to the next level with a completely transformative new look for Dune: Part Three.

In the trailer for the franchise’s third installment, which was released on March 17, The Batman actor had fans doing a double—and triple—take with his turn as Scytale, a villainous bleach-blonde shapeshifter. In the preview, Pattinson debuted white-bleached eyebrows that blend in with his porcelain complexion. Paired with a cropped icy blonde crewcut, a square hairline, and purple-hued lips, the Die My Love actor looks worlds away from his signature appearance. Pattinson’s Scytale will play the leader of the Dune Messiah group in opposition to Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides.

Pattinson’s Dune: Part Three transformation comes shortly after he pushed beauty boundaries with a head-turning transformation for The Drama. The British actor, who’ll be playing one half of an engaged couple opposite Zendaya in the A24 romantic comedy, shocked fans when he appeared in a promo photo with a surprising new look. Pattinson ditched his dark brown hair for a long curly wig, wearing a tight white lace-trimmed camisole and red lipstick smeared across his face as the Euphoria actress posed on his back.

While Pattinson is happy to go the extra mile to step into his characters’ footsteps, he was back to his dapper self in a black tuxedo at the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday while posing with fiancée Suki Waterhouse. The Pride and Prejudice actress, who shares a 2-year-old daughter with Pattinson, stunned in a sculptural feather bra as a top at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art event.
Pattinson also fueled rumors that he and Waterhouse had secretly gotten married at the March 17 Los Angeles premiere of The Drama when asked what his biggest “secret” was by Zendaya. “It’s the same one that you have,” he cheekily responded, seemingly alluding to the rumors that the Dune actress and Holland are already married.
