A Guernsey-based AI company, Duforest, has been shortlisted for the interview stage of the Isle of Man Innovation Challenge 2026.
The Challenge attracted 467 registrations from 25 countries, resulting in 125 fully qualified entries. Following the extensive review process, 60 organisations have been selected to progress to interview, with Duforest’s health innovation, Fyn, among those shortlisted.
Developed within Duforest’s Foundry, Fyn is designed to help health and care systems engage people more effectively through intelligent engagement systems, support behaviour change, and improve outcomes.
As part of the next stage, Duforest will present Fyn to a panel of experts representing Isle of Man Government, Manx Care, the Department of Health and Social Care, and Public Health Isle of Man, as part of a programme designed to test and refine solutions within a real-world
health and care environment.
Simon Kirkpatrick (pictured), Group CEO of Duforest Ltd, said: “This is a strong recognition of the applied research at Duforest, and for Fyn, which takes its name from the ‘fynnoderee’ of Manx folklore. To be shortlisted from a strong international field is, in itself, a clear signal of the progress we are making in defensible and audited AI for regulated industries.
“Fyn is built around empathy between the patient and the healthcare system – strengthening engagement, supporting informed decisions, and delivering improved outcomes within more connected and responsive care systems. We’re looking forward to presenting that vision to the Isle of Man’s health and care leaders.”
Duforest develops AI systems for complex regulatory environments, with a focus on control, compliance and real-world deployment. Its Foundry model enables the rapid development of applied solutions such as Fyn, addressing challenges across sectors including healthcare.
